"Creative. Energetic. Fun!" Nicolette Nordin Heavey, known as The StoryWeaver, weaves together stories that were read or told to her, with stories that she has read, and those that she imagines. Since 2001, Nicolette has been inspiring audiences to listen through her energetic and playful storytellings.
Nicolette lived a "storied" childhood. The product of a British mother and Swedish father, she traveled around Europe and the Middle East. Her stories and characters are textured with events, gestures and accents borrowed from her past. Tigers, frogs, knights and princesses all come to life as Nicolette transforms herself from one character to the next.
Nicolette has told in elementary schools, middles schools, libraries, coffee shops. She tells weekly at The Book Rack bookstore in Newburyport. She was a selected teller at the 2006 Three Apples Storytelling Festival in Bedford, Mass. and was a featured at the 2003 Boston Globe Children's Book Fair.
In June, 2009 she released her first solo storytelling CD, Story Safari, for 2 - 8 year olds. |
