From the harrowing true story of her work to save the endangered storytelling tradition of the Kurds of Turkey to elegant Storytelling Concerts accompanied by harper Margot Chamberlain Diane has been lauded both locally and nationally as a master of her craft. Her performances have timeless themes ranging from Solstice Events rich in seasonal mythology to classic Celtic tales, such as her award-winning adaptation of Deirdre of the Sorrows. This spoken word artist brings not only mythic but also original stories to the stage. These include The Salmon of Wisdom an account of her soul-searching journey up California's breathtaking North Coast during a wild salmon run and Twilight of the Stones - a Halloween favorite for adults - a true ghost story about the eerie Standing Stones of Avebury, England. Varied and versatile, Diane is also known for her comic pieces with their wonderfully rich characterizations and surprising turns. She is as comfortable "out on a storytelling limb" with her daring comedic adaptation New Age Gawain and the Green Knight as she is revealing the deeper meanings that reside in ancient myths. Nationally recognized for her leadership in linking storytelling to nature and environmental education. Diane was an "environmental storyteller" before the term was even in use. An avid collector and teller of nature myths and stories, she gives workshops and retreats centered on environmental themes for the leading nature organizations throughout the Northeast. Featured regularly at major Storytelling Festivals throughout the country, on NPR, at Charlestown Working Theater and at acclaimed folk clubs such as Club Passim, Diane is also a published author. She has written numerous articles on storytelling as well as a ground-breaking book, A Fire in My Heart: Kurdish Tales, the first collection of Kurdish folktales to be published in English. Diane is also the winner of a coveted Oracle award from the National Storytelling Network. In 2011 Diane was awarded the first Oracle award for Regional Excellence.

"A storyteller in the grand tradition, Edgecomb is a virtuoso of the spoken word..." - Publisher's Weekly
