How do I become a Featured Ahtist on the site?

The key is to have a quality image and a well written bio that is at least the length of your image.  Once a week we use a random number generator to generate that week’s featured ahtist.  If that ahtist does not meet the criteria as stated above, they are passed over and we go to the next ahtist.

We decided when building the site to keep the trades separate.  We understand that many people out there are a “jack of all trades” however we feel that most people have one or two talents that truly make them an “artist”!  Therefore we want people to soul search and show the thing that truly makes them shine, instead of just being a little bit of everything.

Why do you organize artists by first name instead of last?

Although most lists of names categorize people by their last name, we found that it made more sense to list artists alphabetically by their first name.  Besides the issue of deciding how that worked with one named artists, bands, companies, etc, when artists network, they will often introduce themselves with their full name. But as they get to know people, they will often keep using only their first name. As artists ourselves, we found that we could more easily remember someone’s first name than their last.  This made organizing artists by their first name a very logical choice.
