Formed
one year ago by Artistic Director, Stephen
Buescher, Workhorse is slowly helping usher
in a new style of theatre-making, on a local
and national scale, expanding the notion of
performance by presenting challenging, experimental,
yet accessible work. Quickly becoming a sought-after
ensemble of actor-creators, Workhorse will
perform as Brown Universitys 2006 summer
resident company during Brown/Trinity Playwrights
Repertory Festival Week in July. In August
the Company will present its first work, Sawbones:
The Cabinet of Dr. Jekyll at the Berkshire
Fringe Festival in Great Barrington, Massachusetts,
and With Claws and Beak will take on New York
at HEREs The American Living Room, a
festival of work by emerging artists. Workhorse
theatre is surprising, humorous, and unique.
