Sheridan Dye began her professional performing career at the age of 13 as a singer/dancer in some particularly forgettable summer stock. She studied dance at New Mexico Ballet Company, San Francisco Ballet School, Houston Ballet, Steps, and Broadway Dance. She has been a member of Actors' Equity Association since 1990, appearing in regional and touring companies of 42nd Street, A Chorus Line, The Music Man, Evita, Can-Can, Sweet Charity, Guys & Dolls, The Pajama Game, Phantom of the Opera, Anything Goes, Annie Get Your Gun, and The Unsinkable Molly Brown.
While living in New York, Sheridan took acting classes at Herbert Berghof Studios, and Studied Musical Theatre with Donna McKechnie. She then moved to Cincinnati, where she coached an elite level gymnastics team, and studied lighting design at CCM. While she was in Cincinnati, she discovered the world of commercials: because Proctor & Gamble is in Cincinnati, they shoot their test commercials there. Heyman Talent thought Sheridan was the perfect P&G soccer mom, and she started doing commercials. On Sept 11, Sheridan was in Williamsburg, Virginia, shooting a commercial for Busch Gardens.
In 2002, she auditioned for a role in the HBO film, Iron-Jawed Angels (a role ultimately given to Julia Ormond, oh well!). Since then, she has appeared in the feature films Ladder 49 (Jay Russell, dir. Rich Bittner, choreo.), Cry Wolf (Jeff Wadlow), Step Up (Anne Fletcher, dir/choreo), Invasion (Oliver Hirschbiegel), and the TV shows Line of Fire (Rod Lurie), and The Wire (Seasons 3 AND 4).
After moving to New England in 2004 to coach a gymnastics team, she began connecting with the film community here by being an extra in the Farrelly Brothers movie Fever Pitch for five long overnight shoots. She also volunteered her time to give seminars to college students for her parent union, Actors' Equity. She currently divides her time between Rhode Island and New York, doing film, commercials, and television. She also choreographs for live shows and musicals, and is a personal trainer and Pilates Instructor. Her most recent role was the lead in the independent film Something Blue in NYC.
