Pontine
Theatre creates original productions based
on the history, culture, and literature of
New England. All productions are rooted in
the actor-training technique of the great
French actor, Etienne Decroux. Productions
feature the use of masks, puppetry, panoramas,
and movement...all designed and created by
Pontine Co-Director, Greg Gathers. Pontine
is a permanent two-person ensemble which was
founded in 1977 by Co-Director, Marguerite
Mathews (NH Artist Laureate 02-06).
Pontine is a
resident company at The West End Studio Theatre,
a 50-seat black-box venue located in Portsmouth
NH.
