Founded
in 1933, the Peterborough Players has offered
high-quality theatre for the Monadnock Region
of southwestern New Hampshire and beyond for
over 70 years.
The Players is the only professional producing
theatre in the region, and one of the oldest
summer stock companies in the country. Now
in its 72nd season, the Players has staged
more than 300 different plays over the years,
including works by Shakespeare and Shaw, Ibsen,
Wilde, Wilder, Beckett, Williams, Miller and
Mamet, as well as world and regional premieres
and recent work by contemporary playwrights.
During the 2000 season, the Players extended
its traditional 5-play season, adding the
run a 6th production, which extended the season
into mid-September.
