Most of my training has been in theater, but I am eager to break into film. I started dancing when I was five years old at Chambers Dance Company in Randolph, Massachusetts. Russell Chambers had a dream to create a ballet company where dancers of all shapes and sizes could be ballerinas. My mom quickly learned that the dance world was not the best world for a little girl. When I was in Chamber's Dance Company's version of "The Nutcracker," one of the theaters where we performed was The Company Theatre in Norwell, Massachusetts. My mom asked me if I wanted to sign up for acting camp at The Company Theatre, and I said yes, so, when I was eight years old, I first attended A.C.T. (Academy of the Company Theatre), and I was home. From age eight to seventeen I went to camp every summer, and I was in several shows at The Company Theatre; "Footloose" (2002, Ensemble), "42nd Street" (2001, Ensemble), "Gloryland: The America Show" (2000, Ensemble), "Children of Eden" (1999, Ensemble/Unicorn), "Tommy" (1996, 10 Year Old Tommy), "The Miracle Worker" (1996, Young Annie Sullivan/blind student). More recently, I have taken classes at CP Casting with Carolyn Pickman (2009) and with Ken Cheeseman (2008). I also took a class at Boston Casting with Michael Fennimore (2007). I have only had the opportunity to be in one film, so far. I played the role of Carol (the first kill) in N.A.M., a student film thesis for New York Film Academy, of the horror genre (2009). I believe in the importance of good technical training, but you can't teach someone how to feel. |
