John-Michael Whitney
Actor - New Haven, CT
     John-Michael has been acting around the state since 1987. Most recently, he was the first actor to play the role of Chris in the Connecticut Community Theatre premiere of Miss Saigon with Rocky Hill Town Theatre. John-Michael's work has been honored twice with an LTM (Little Theater of Manchester) Achievement in Acting Award, first as Best Supporting Actor for his role as John Utterson in Jekyll & Hyde, and most recently as Best Actor for his portrayal of The Baker in Into the Woods. He also played Sonny DeLuna, the troubled son in LTM's production of Front Street. In Rocky Hill, John-Michael has played Stone in City of Angels, and Britt Craig in Parade. JM played Juan Peron in a critically acclaimed production of Evita at Edgerton Center for the Arts at Sacred Heart University. John worked extensively with Amarante's Dinner Theatre in New Haven in productions such as Bye, Bye Birdie, Grease, Hello Dolly!, Sound of Music, Fiddler on the Roof, Mam of La Mancha, Camelot! and Mame. John-Michael has a habit of playing the same role more than once. Twice, he was seen as Motel Kamzoil with Amarante's Dinner Theatre and The Orange Players. In addition, he played the roles of Bazzard/Philip Bax twice...once with Musicals at Richter in Danbury and again at Seven Angels Theatre in Waterbury. Three times, he was in the barbershop quartet in The Music Man. Coming up in November, John-Michael will be seen as Beauregard Jackson Pickett Burnside in Mame at the Little Theatre of Manchester. John always dedicates his performances to the memory of his mother Nancy, his fater Richard, and his brother Bo.
