John Joseph Gomes Actor - East Providence, RI
John is an actor and dancer who currently resides in Rhode Island and has been performing since he was 11 years of age. While attending the Community College of Rhode Island ('95-'97), John received 2 back to back Irene Ryan Award Nominations for playing CF Friday in Boy Meets Girl and for playing the dual role of Hiram/Bruno in Bad Habits. He was also nominated for a Spotlight Award for Best Actor for playing Bradley, a retarded man sentenced to death row, in a one act play called The Test based on a true story and was performed with the Sage Theater Company in New York in 1999. He's had the pleasure to perform with the Vasella Dance Project for their 2001 season, choreograph and perform in benefits for Alzheimer’s Foundation and AIDS Project Rhode Island at which he also sang. John currently teaches hip-hop and jazz dance at the Modern Jazz Dance Company/Center of the Arts in Providence, RI and acts in local low-budget, independent films.
