Ellen Becker-Gray grew up in the seacoast town of Marblehead, Massachusetts. A teacher in that town's public schools from 1985 to 2005, she took early retirement to focus on her career as a performer.
Trained in theatre, Ellen has appeared throughout New England and Canada. In addition to performing, she directs, produces and teaches acting at many levels. Ellen began her transition to film as an actor in 2004. Since then, she has worked in more 70 films, television, commercials, industrials, and educational videos. Ellen conveys strong emotional instincts. Known for her impeccable comedic timing and improvisational skills, she is a quick study who offers a variety of characters, dialects and accents.
Ellen received the "Best Actress Award" in 2007 for the Providence 48 Hour Film Project. In 2008, she directed the film selected as the "Audience Choice Award" for that year's Providence 48 Hour Film Project. She was featured in Imagine Magazine's issues: Special Edition - New England Actors & Their Stories (March, 2011) and Women in the Industry (November, 2009). Ellen was also honored when a published Children's Book was dedicated to her when she was a teacher.
