Christine Barrett Sieberg began dancing at age three and has an extensive background in diverse styles ranging from ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre, hip-hop, and modern. Her love of dance was instilled at the Karen Hauser Mahoney Studio of Dance in Arlington, MA and she later trained with Kenda Newbury (AZDance Group), Rebecca Levy (B.E. Productions), and Adrienne Hawkins (Impulse Dance). Christine has also taken numerous master classes and workshops with some leading companies including Boston Ballet, Paul Taylor, Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane, Lineage Dance, and Complexions. Christine also appeared in numerous plays and musicals while growing up.
Christine has performed all over the country, has appeared on television, and has won several awards for her work. She has performed with the Boston College Dance Team, the Boston Liturgical Dance Ensemble, DJ Dancers/Impulse Dance under the direction of Ms. Adrienne Hawkins, and with Christina Seggos at Providence Ballet.
Most recently, Christine has been collaborating with musician/composer Ben Hochberg (a.k.a. Clark Franklin) to create new works. In May 2008, Christine's choreography Endings was performed at the Shared Choreographer's Concert at the Dance Complex in Cambridge, MA and she was recently a guest artist in Kira Seamon presents: Collections at the Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center in Cambridge, MA where she debuted Part II: Beginnings.
Christine feels so blessed to have met Christina Seggos four years ago. Together, they have danced in several shows and recently danced in a test commercial for Versace Eyewear. They have taken their love of jazz dance and in 2008 formed Aurea Dance. They produced and debuted their work in a benefit concert for the Providence Ronald McDonald House in April 2009. Aurea Dance has also performed at the 2009 Built on Stilts Dance Festival on Martha's Vineyard as well at a Peace Festival in Rockport, MA, and in Arias and Arabesques: Die Fledermaus Suite at the Cambridge Multicultural Arts Center.
Christine is also a certified dance teacher through the Dance Teacher's Club of Boston and the American Society, Inc and recently completed her Ph.D. in clinical psychology. |
