Caitlin McCarthy
Screenwriter - Worcester, MA
|
Caitlin McCarthy was raised in Worcester, Massachusetts, home of the world’s first Valentine card, yellow “smiley” face, and birth control pill. McCarthy received her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Emerson College, which is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as one of the best graduate programs in the country. Her screenplays have won awards and recognition at international film festivals – most notably "Wonder Drug," which was selected as an Alfred P. Sloan Foundation script for the 2007 Hamptons Screenwriters’ Lab, and chosen for a live staged reading and panel discussion at the 15th Annual Hamptons International Film Festival; and "Vera," which was a winner of the Atlanta Film Festival’s inaugural screenplay competition in 2007. In addition to screenwriting and producing, McCarthy serves as an English teacher on the high school level. Prior to education, McCarthy worked in public relations, where she fostered relationships with the press and crafted mess
ages for companies that were delivered worldwide.
