Amy Lynn Budd is a theatre director, performer, and producer based in Providence. She has directed plays for NewGate Theatre, Perishable Theatre, Brown University’s MFA Playwriting Program, All Children’s Theatre Ensemble, The Manton Avenue Project, Riverside Theatre in Iowa City, Iowa, and Indiana State University. Could Judas Get A Fair Trial?

The Last Days of Judas Iscariot, written by Stephen Adly Guirgis, is enjoying its Rhode Island premier at The Hope Artiste Village in Pawtucket, RI now through May 23. Originally produced in New York in 2005, this brilliantly written, thought provoking play explores the “what if” scenario as it puts the Bible’s most notorious sinner, Judas Iscariot, on trial. Dark humor, great use of the space and lively characters abound. Many historical facts and Bible passages are quoted as a parade of famous witnesses from Sigmund Freud (Greg Barbon) to Mother Theresa (Emily Lewis) present their often conflicting testimony in this strange little corner of Purgatory called Hope...

News Updates - May 22nd 2009 - On Monday, June 22nd 2009 at 7:00pm at Tazza Café in Providence, RI, Ahtspot.com presents the 4th Annual Ahtspot Open Call! This event is one of the events leading up to Providence’s 48 Hour Film Project. This is an event for actors, filmmakers and theater professional like no other. The Ahtspot Open Call is an open form audition show where talented actors can audition for the crowd of directors, producers and even other actors. Each actor gets no more than two minutes on stage, and if they go over their time they are hosed down with silly string to let them know it is time to go. This popular event has been very well attended in the past. You can see pictures at the links below. Click here to see the current Open Call list.
Directors, producers and other theater and film professionals—this is a free event to check out the local New England pool of talent. From 7 to 9pm you will be able to watch actors audition for the audience, then after the show stick around and approach your favorite talent. Order a drink, relax, take notes and enjoy the show!
